Folio is free, open-source software under the MIT License. You can use, copy, change and share it.

The license

Folio's source code and builds are covered by the MIT License. The opencode copy bundled with Folio is also MIT licensed; its notice is in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md. The EB Garamond and Caveat fonts are under the SIL Open Font License.

Provided as is

As the MIT License says, Folio is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Folio runs an AI coding agent that can read and change files and run commands in the folder you open. Keep your work in version control, read changes before you keep them, and turn on Ask before the press writes if you want to approve each step. You are responsible for what you let it do.

AI providers

The models Folio talks to through opencode are run by third parties: the opencode team's OpenCode Zen, or a provider you connect with your own key. Their terms, limits and prices apply to your use of them. Free models can change or stop at any time.

Names

opencode is an open-source project by its own authors. Folio is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
